Dear Yale Class of 2022,
Welcome to Yale! We know your first semester of Yale is a busy time. You have extracurricular bazaars to attend, dinner plans to organize, and classes to shop — all in addition to this thing called a cappella rush. Don’t worry, though — we’re here to help! Auditioning is a great way to get to know upperclassmen and learn about the myriad opportunities available to you at Yale. — The 2018 Rush Managers: Ali, Jake, and Jacob M.
Rush in five easy steps
Feel free to email the Rush Managers (Ali, Jake, and Jacob M.) with any questions you have! AuditionsThe audition is your first step in the Rush process; it’s your chance to show us what you can do! Magevet has laid-back auditions. We’ll start you off with some warm-ups to test your range and hear your tone. Then, we’ll teach you a short line from one of our pieces. Finally, you’ll perform a short solo of your choice. The solo you sing is completely up to you: rock, pop, jazz, classical — the style doesn't really matter; just be sure to pick a song that you like and that you're comfortable singing.
At the end of August every year, we post a link to audition sign-ups on our website! |
